Step (1): Insert your DVD into the drive and launch DVD decrypter. DVD Decrypter will detect the DVD and its file contents will now be displayed in the right pane. Now go to File > Browse and select the destination for the ripped VOB files. Keep in mind that the destination must have enough free space to store the contents of the entire DVD.
Step (2): After choosing the destination, click on File>Decrypt to start the decryption process. DVD Decrypter removes the Macrovision Protection by default, and you can set to remove region code as well by going to Tools > IFO > Region > Patch > Region Free. These are necessary for the next step. After the DVD ripping process is completed, close DVD Decrypter.
Step (3): Next Launch DVD2AVI. Go to File > Open. Make sure the correct track number in the Audio menu is selected. You need to find the correct track number-most DVDs have multiple audio tracks in different languages. This can be checked by selecting one track at a time and playing it. Also click on the Audio menu and navigate to “48>44.1KHz”, and select Off. Go to Help > SIMD Technology and select all the optimizations supported by your processor. Now go to File > Save As AVI.
Step (4): Decide on a file name and choose a location with enough free space. You will now be prompted to choose a video compressor. Choose “DivX 6.x.x” from the drop-down menu where you can select the video compressor.
Step (5): Under the Certification Profiles, you can choose an appropriate preset profile such as High Definition, Home Theatre, Portable, Handheld, and Unconstrained. When you choose one of the above profiles, it is virtually guaranteed that the encoded DivX file will be playable on any standalone DivX-certified player. Click on Settings. You can select a bitrate of your choice. A higher bitrate means a larger file size and better quality, while a lower bitrate means a smaller file size and lower image quality.
Step (6): In the Codec tab, you can set the Encoding mode. The default setting is a good trade-off between quality and compression, but if you wish to control the file size, you can state your own mode such as High Performance, Better Quality, etc. Click on OK and then on save to start the video
demultiplexing process. This will take some time depending on the speed of your computer. At the end of this process, you’ll have an AVI file and a WAV file.
Step (7): We now get to the creation of the DivX file-putting together the video (AVI) and audio (WAV) files that were created in the previous step. Launch Virtual Dub. Under File > Open, browse to the folder where the AVI and WAV files are stored. Select the AVI file and click Open.
Step (8): Click on the Audio menu and click “Full Processing Mode”. Click again on the Audio menu and select “WAV Audio”. You will be prompted to open a WAV file. Select the WAV file you created earlier and click Open. Click on the Audio menu and then on Compression. Select “MPEG Layer-3” from the left pane and then select “128 KBit/s, 48,000Hz, Streo” in the right pane. Click OK.
Step (9): Select Interleaving from the Audio menu. Then, select the “mis” radio button and input “500” into the “Interleave audio every” dialog box. Click OK. Again, in the Audio menu, select Volume. Check the box and move the slider to 200 percent. Click OK.
Step (10): From the Video menu, select Direct Stream Copy.
Step (11): Go to File > Save As. Enter a file name of your choice at a location of your choice, and click at a location of your choice, and click OK. This, again, will take some time, but not as much as the video encoding using DVD2AVI. After the process is complete, you’ll have a DivX backup of ypur DVD movie.
Step (12): All that’s left now is to burn the DivX backup up to CD or DVD using your DVD-Writer.

Welcome to Windows 7 Release Candidate (RC) testing. We're on our way to Windows 7, and if you like trying out pre-release software, now's your chance. You get to see what's coming, and we get to see if our changes and fixes from the Beta testing are working correctly.
How do you test the software? You put it on your PC, and then do what you'd normally do. Your PC will automatically and anonymously send our engineers the information they need to verify the fixes and changes they made based on the Windows 7 Beta tests.
Here's what you need to know:
This is pre-release software, so please read the following to get an idea of the risks and key things you need to know before you try the RC.
You don't need to rush to get the RC. The RC will be available at least through July 2009 and we're not limiting the number of product keys, so you have plenty of time.
Watch the calendar. The RC will expire on June 1, 2010. Starting on March 1, 2010, your PC will begin shutting down every two hours. Windows will notify you two weeks before the bi-hourly shutdowns start. To avoid interruption, you'll need to install a non-expired version of Windows before March 1, 2010. You'll also need to install the programs and data that you want to use. (Learn more about installing Windows.)
Protect your PC and data. Be sure to back up your data and please don't test the RC on your primary home or business PC.
Tech details/updates: Before installing the RC, please read the Release Notes and Things to Know for important information about the release.
Keep up with the news. You can keep up with general technical information and news by following the team blog. And, you can get non-technical news, tips, and offers by subscribing to the monthly Exploring Windows newsletter.
Keep your PC updated: Be sure to turn on automatic updates in Windows Update in case we publish updates for the RC.
Installation: You can install the Windows 7 RC on a PC running Windows Vista without backing up the PC—but we encourage you to make a backup for safe keeping. If you're running Windows XP or the Windows 7 Beta, you'll need to backup your data, then do a clean installation of the RC, then reinstall your applications and restore your data. If you need to do a backup, please see How to back up your PC for more details and a suggestion for how to backup a PC running Windows 7 Beta or Windows Vista.
To install and use the RC, you'll need to know how to:
Troubleshoot problems. You're pretty much flying solo, so you'll need to handle your own tech support, and rely on other RC testers for their know-how
Burn an ISO file to make an installation DVD
Install Windows
Backup and restore your PC
Set up a network
Create and use a system recovery disk

Here's what you need to have:
Internet access (to download Windows 7 RC and get updates)
A PC with these system requirements:
1 GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
1 GB RAM (32-bit) / 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
16 GB available disk space (32-bit) / 20 GB (64-bit)
DirectX 9 graphics processor with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
Please note these specifications could change. And, some product features of Windows 7, such as the ability to watch and record live TV or navigation through the use of "touch," may require advanced or additional hardware.
Get the download
The 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows 7 RC are available in five languages: English, German, Japanese, French, and Spanish. Just choose the version that fits the system you'll be using, pick your language, and click go to register for and download the RC.
Downloading the Windows 7 RC could take a few hours. The exact time will depend on your internet provider, bandwidth, and traffic. The good news is that once you start the download, you won't have to answer any more questions – you can walk away while it finishes. If it gets interrupted, it'll restart where it left off. Get a Product Key
Just need a Product Key? It's easy to get. If you've already downloaded the RC or have an installation disc, start the download process above by selecting your version and language. You'll be asked to enter your Windows Live ID, and to answer a few registration questions. Then you'll see the product key you can use to activate the RC, and you won't need to go through the download process again.
Information about Windows 7 is preliminary and subject to change. Some product features of Windows 7, such as the ability to watch and record live TV or navigation through the use of "touch," may require advanced or additional hardware. The features and functionality you find in the pre-release product may not appear in the final version of Windows 7. The much awaited Windows 7 Release Candidate (RC), which has the build version 7100 official public download availability has begun, as scheduled. The full DVD ISO images for Windows 7 RC have earlier been leaked to Internet, and published to MSDN and TechNet subscribers. Together with the download of Windows 7 RC, downloaders can also receive a free product key to activate Windows 7 RC. After server crashing experience when releasing Windows 7 Beta, everyone appears to get the same set of Windows 7 RC product keys, similar to distribution of Windows 7 Beta product key.Windows 7 RC is available in English, French, German, Japanese and Spanish. Unfortunately, Arabic and Hindi language which available during Windows 7 Beta has been dropped. Both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) of Windows 7 RC is available for free download. The installed Windows 7 RC system will expire on June 1, 2010 after activation, with bi-hourly shutdowns will begin on March 1, 2010.
